High Step-Up Three-Port Converter for Renewable Energy Systems

In this paper, a high voltage gain non-isolated three-port converter with three-winding coupled inductor is proposed for renewable energy system. By implementing cascoded structure where photovoltaic (PV) source stacked on top of battery source, the output can be achieved reasonable duty cycle, resulting in higher efficiency when both sources provide to load. Furthermore, only three power switches are needed regulate flows among ports. When low-voltage PV provides load, primary winding and secondary connected series opposite polarities increase converter.The use clamp circuit allows recycling leakage inductance energy, which helps reduce spikes switches. This results selection low on-resistance leads efficiency. The topology’s operations, steady-state analyses, key parameter designs then discussed. To validate performance converter, 300 W laboratory prototype implemented.
